Wolfgang, do you have a copy of the full site including all sections
and files? That would be the definitive solution. If so, please try to
upload them like we have done it using http://rapidshare.com

Sorry, I only got a few text-derivates out of the cyberscript files.

Until now, I have managed to recover virtually all files except for
some from the "temp" directory and the Finnish protected mode tutorial
from "John Fine"'s directory. At this time, it takes about 4.8
Megabytes, and I would be uploading it right now into a ZIP file if I
had all files assured.

I'll scan my 'infobook' which contain mainly (converted into text based
short-cuts) info about hardware details if they could add to the quest.
It became a messy thick book yet and needs sort and cleanup before it
can be published.

A "mirror" of the Web-pages and text files are available at this link.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/index.htm

Unfortunately, the site corrupts .zip and .tgz files... Better ask me now
for .zip or .tgz files, if you forgot to get something.

Just a thought, if I stopped updating a site, and actually
had it dropped from the net, I may not want my e-mail attached
to any "resurrected" site.

I would probably remove the email address.  Leave the credit
but remove the email address, it may still be valid.

Any how, thanks for the work.

Ben

Ok, I'll remove the e-mail address as soon as possible.

Hi everyone,

I didn't realize my web pages were still that popular. Sorry for
taking it down without warning.

I zipped up all the OS and OSD stuff and John Fine's old material.
The file is about 2.5 MB:
http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/oldpages.zip

I need my web space for other projects, so I'll delete this file
after a week or two.

I have some other snippets that don't take up that much space,
so I'll leave them up:
http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/code/

Thx, I renamed the other try as geezer-1
and the new zip file as geezer-2 both on
mirror.freedoors.org

I have lots of storage and bandwidth so I don;t see a problem
storing and mirroring these.

I have enough room I also mirror copies of the baen cd's on
baencd.freedoors.org
containing 160+ books in multiple formats as well as iso's
of the original discs so this tiny bit is nothing.

As I said before if I am missing anything then please let me know.
I will soon be adding RBIL to the mirror site.

Well, there is a lot of stuff in there. It was turning into an OSdev
encyclopedia... One could build an OS from what you wrote. But, IMO the
important part is much of it is Public Domain, not GPL etc. Searching for
PD code was how I found your site in the first place. PD code is uncommon
(compared to GPL/FOSS) and is worth saving. Also, your webpages are/were
frequently some of the first pages that come up via Yahoo and Google for
searches on OS related questions. I almost never see the search engines
return pages from osdev.org or Ben Lunt or Alexei Frounze...

A big thanks from all of us!

PS. Since Chris provided his stuff, I'll probably kill my rapidshare zips
in a week or so...
