Oh, rules me out for an account. No email use. I can send email from my
PC, but an aggresive filter will catch, probably even if I send as
postmaster... I'll look at the file share sites 'captcha' mentioned. If
they require email auth to use instead of pure http signup, I'll have to
find an anon ftp or another method. I'd prefer anon ftp anyway.

I can compare against what is at http://archive.org and order a
considerable part of what needs to be completed and/or updated,

Those files can be uploaded easily at http://rapidshare.com without

Convenient... I uploaded what I have to them. It's a Winzip. Tested with
PKZIP too. (Wrong format??? Yes/no?) I did not do a confirmation download
(in case they limit downloads or bandwidth).

Just to clarify, I have started to complete the missing content into
this mirror using both the ZIP file you provided and the contents at
http://www.archive.org

Does anybody have further missing files like the ones in the "temp"
directory, "good-gdt.gif" and "bad-gdt.gif", etc.?

I will keep working on this in the next hours or days. And as I had
said, the only almost complete part of this mirror, if not full, is
the http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/osd/ part.

Hi Rod, thanks for uploading this. I'm going to integrate it into the
site. I'm hoping to faithfully preserve all of the original web site as
it was. As I'm sure you can understand, I wouldnt want to post methods
to get into my server on a usenet group.

Well, dont have much to do today, got all my housework done yesterday,
so guess I'll be working on this.

Sure do, for me email is the security problem... We'll have to thank
'captcha' for his referral to a file share site that I could use without
email. Thanks, 'captcha'. It was _very_ easy to use. Perhaps, it was
_too_ easy to upload... (e.g., a trusted insider or someone on an open
machine could upload "everything" in no time flat.). But, I'm sure we
(I...) could've found a forgotten open anonymous uploadable ftp or a open
postable forgotten nntp server and posted the files as uuencoded... ;)

Regards.

I have also uploaded what I had here:

File: http://rapidshare.com/files/129678096/my.execpc.com.zip.html
MD5: 46e73959fdc17156995bc785bdb35499

Note that what is contained in the "my.execpc.com/~geezer/osd/" path
in this ZIP file is better than what is at http://www.archive.org,
since it doesn't contain "semi-corrupted" ZIP files from a recovery or
such things, and it was a clean save using WGET when the site had
still much time to stay.

Kristof, I hope you, or somebody else, have the missing files from the
temp folder and even more, from the other most important sections and
are able to share them.

And to everybody, please take into account that I am keeping one more
mirror. It's better to have more so it can't get lost.

By the way, I'd like to say that in http://rapidshare.com, the files
will be deleted within 30 days unless they are downloaded at least 1
time before that.

I can provide webspace and bandwidth as well. But I don't have time to
gather all files. If anyone manages to collect all files, put them in
a zip and hand them over to me I'll gladly host them.

I have two servers which could host/mirror the pages.

IIRC Mark&Candice White hold our cyberscriptorium and may have space
for OSD too (I don't have their email).

Wolfgang, do you have a copy of the full site including all sections
and files? That would be the definitive solution. If so, please try to
upload them like we have done it using http://rapidshare.com

Until now, I have managed to recover virtually all files except for
some from the "temp" directory and the Finnish protected mode tutorial
from "John Fine"'s directory. At this time, it takes about 4.8
Megabytes, and I would be uploading it right now into a ZIP file if I
had all files assured.

Regards.

I have also uploaded what I had here:

File: http://rapidshare.com/files/129678096/my.execpc.com.zip.html
MD5: 46e73959fdc17156995bc785bdb35499

I made a diff relative to that. Unzips into it. I did a manual filename
compare and added what was missing from my set of files. (You'll have to do
a binary compare on your own.) Then I added 'software','embed','misc', and
stuff to temp which was "extra"...

http://rapidshare.com/files/130140682/diff.zip.html
MD5: fe84ccc3fc6968287407d0ec4baba3fa *diff.zip

Oops, I just realized I forgot to get some of files for the "Free souce code
page" webpage:
news2htm.zip news2htm.gif fixed.zip asm-demo.zip view.zip badgif.gif
goodgif.gif tali.gif

Well, those aren't included... The four gif's came down clean. The .zip's
have that problem.

On Chris Giese's OSD and John Fine mirror:
http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/

Chris Giese writes:
"Updated June 15, 2008
All the OS development stuff is gone.
I've lost interest in it. Try the OSdev
wiki and discussion board for FAQs,
tutorials, toy kernels, etc. "

A "mirror" of the Web-pages and text files are available at this link.
http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://my.execpc.com/~geezer/index.htm

Unfortunately, the site corrupts .zip and .tgz files...  Better ask me now
for .zip or .tgz files, if you forgot to get something.
