Hi All,
I am trying to write a simple kernel with drivers for
network card AMD PCNet 32 PCI. Are there any places i can start with.
I have briefly gone through AMD docs but they look huge

Thanks and Regards,

Sorry to leave you out in the cold! Unfortunately I haven't got anywhere
near networking in my OS yet, so I can't offer anything. Other than to
suggest what you've presumably already done: wade into those huge AMD docs
Smile Good luck!

I marked this thread as interesting for me too, but I can't offer
any help because I don't ever had this card and my OS knows only
rather old legacy port LAN (which I abuse my way) and RS232 (yet).

Hi Suchindra,

my 2 cents on the heap:

Double check the docs with some sources too:

http://lxr.linux.no/linux/drivers/net/pcnet32.c

Good luck,
Francesco

At the http://www.crynwr.com/ site they offer some source code for
packet drivers among many compiled ones. This code is for out-of-date
network cards though which are no longer available.

I think you should better use a manufacturer's packet driver and build
on the packet driver interface. I have a collection of packet drivers
here:
